Tom’s Cutting Edge Welcomes a New Owner!
After many years of providing top-quality sharpening services, Tom Downs has made the difficult decision to step back due to health reasons. In doing so, he has carefully chosen Alan Putnam to take over the business, ensuring the same level of precision, service, pricing, process and professionalism that customers have come to trust.
Alan has been personally trained by Tom on his equipment and sharpening techniques, making for a seamless transition. Tom will continue to work with Alan and attend the farmer’s market beginning in May.
The only change customers will notice is the addition of new drop-off locations in Lake Wylie and Rock Hill. Of course, we will have a Fort Mill location set up shortly for our Fort Mill area clients.

I would like to give a great big shout out to Tom for sharpening quite a few knives for me. He actually came to my work and picked them up. And, he delivered them back to me there! When he says that they are sharpened better than new, believe me, they are. And, he brings them back in a cardboard sleeve with tips on the big knives. I am thoroughly amazed at how sharp these knives are! You won’t be disappointed.
